Beauty Halla Shines at 49th DITF: Fadhila's Journey to Market Expansion

Hosted at the TWCC Pavilion and with the support of the GIZ WE4D program, Miss Fadhila Athumani Mgumia debuted her unique range of palm-based soaps and oils, much lauded for their nourishing benefits for skin and hair. The exhibition marked a pivotal moment for Fadhila's Beauty Halla by unlocking access to new urban markets, from spas, to health stores, and from cosmetic distributors to retail customers, all eager to source authentic Tanzanian wellness products.

Rich in vitamins and antioxidants Fadhila's palm-derived supplements are rich in vitamins and antioxidants the kind of product that captivates wellness-conscious consumers. The young business woman says many customers expressed appreciation for the traditional and nutritional benefits of palm extracts, leading to bulk order commitments for future delivery.

“I gained 35 new buyers who were highly impressed by the value of palm-based products,” Fadhila said, reflecting on the game-changing momentum she had at the signature event.

Beyond commercial success, Fadhila leveraged the Sabasaba experience to deepen her understanding of the cosmetics industry’s competitive landscape. She observed packaging innovations, branding techniques, and pricing models that will inform her next phase of product development tailored for regional and export opportunities. Networking sessions opened doors to new supplier relationships and potential collaborations with fellow women entrepreneurs, reinforcing her confidence to scale Beauty Hala on a national level.

With bilingual engagement in both English and Swahili, Fadhila effectively communicated the health, cultural, and beauty value of her products—an approach that strengthened customer trust. She plans to enhance her marketing strategy with branded promotional materials and continue refining her storytelling. Looking ahead, she envisions expanding production capacity, formalizing supply chains with palm farmers, obtaining Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) certification, and launching e-commerce channels to reach beyond Morogoro and Dar es Salaam.
